About the Role
The Human Resources and Compliance Manager will manage all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and policy development. This role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, labor laws, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare HR and compliance, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining a positive work environment and meeting regulatory standards.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with STAMA’s goals and values, fostering an engaging and high-performance work culture.
Partner with the executive team to identify and fulfill workforce needs, addressing talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning.
Establish clear performance metrics and employee engagement initiatives to support company objectives.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Retention
Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviewing, to ensure STAMA attracts top talent.
Oversee onboarding and orientation processes, ensuring new hires are equipped to succeed and align with STAMA’s mission.
Develop and implement employee retention strategies, fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting professional development.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, addressing concerns with confidentiality, fairness, and compliance.
Lead the performance evaluation process, working with managers to set clear performance expectations and provide constructive feedback.
Facilitate training and development programs that support professional growth, compliance awareness, and skill enhancement.
Policy Development & Implementation
Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures that reflect best practices and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
Ensure employees are informed of HR policies and provide regular training on policy adherence and workplace conduct.
Maintain up-to-date employee handbooks, compliance manuals, and other resources that promote an informed workforce.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure organizational compliance with healthcare regulations, labor laws, and industry standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and DHSS requirements.
Develop and enforce protocols to safeguard patient information, maintain data security, and adhere to ethical standards.
Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and mitigate compliance risks.
Compensation & Benefits Administration
Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compensation programs, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Review and evaluate benefits packages to ensure competitiveness, attract and retain talent, and enhance employee satisfaction.
Provide guidance to employees on benefits options, resolving inquiries and facilitating enrollment as needed.
Training & Compliance Education
Design and deliver compliance training programs to ensure all employees understand their obligations and responsibilities.
Conduct regular training sessions on topics such as HIPAA compliance, workplace safety, diversity and inclusion, and harassment prevention.
Track and document employee participation in mandatory training programs, maintaining accurate records for compliance purposes.
Health & Safety Programs
Develop and maintain health and safety programs to ensure a safe work environment, complying with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
Coordinate workplace safety inspections, incident reporting, and corrective actions to address identified hazards.
Promote wellness initiatives and employee assistance programs that support physical and mental well-being.
HR & Compliance Reporting
Prepare and maintain reports related to HR metrics, compliance activities, and incident investigations, sharing insights with leadership as needed.
Monitor HR and compliance trends, providing recommendations to enhance policies and maintain alignment with industry best practices.
Maintain employee and compliance records with accuracy and confidentiality, ensuring easy access for auditing and reporting.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (PHR, SPHR, or CHC certification preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of HR and compliance experience, preferably within the healthcare sector, with a track record of managing regulatory compliance and employee relations.
Skills:
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, labor laws, and HR best practices.
Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Proficient in HRIS systems, compliance software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
