About the Role

The Residential Support Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of residential programs, ensuring the delivery of quality support services, adherence to regulatory requirements, and the implementation of individualized care plans. This role involves supervising residential staff, coordinating with families and healthcare providers, and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for all residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential support, team management, and a commitment to fostering independence and dignity for individuals in care.

Requirements

  1. Key Responsibilities:


    1. Residential Program Management

      • Oversee daily operations of residential facilities, ensuring quality care, safety, and adherence to company policies and standards.

      • Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to each resident's needs, goals, and preferences.

      • Monitor the physical environment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health and safety regulations.


    2. Staff Supervision & Development

      • Lead, train, and mentor residential staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

      • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support staff development and skill-building.

      • Schedule and assign staff duties to ensure adequate coverage, consistent quality of care, and adherence to staffing requirements.


    3. Resident Care & Support

      • Ensure residents receive person-centered, compassionate care that promotes their well-being, independence, and personal growth.

      • Act as a primary point of contact for residents’ families and external providers, maintaining open and positive communication.

      • Address residents’ needs promptly, advocating for their best interests and adjusting care plans as needed.


    4. Compliance & Documentation

      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each resident, ensuring documentation aligns with regulatory standards and confidentiality requirements.

      • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to residential care, including those set forth by DHHS and other relevant bodies.

      • Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions to uphold high standards in care and compliance.


    5. Crisis Management & Conflict Resolution

      • Lead and manage emergency situations and crisis interventions in a calm, efficient, and compassionate manner.

      • Implement and maintain crisis prevention protocols, providing guidance to staff on managing challenging behaviors or emergencies.

      • Mediate conflicts or concerns among residents, families, and staff, promoting a respectful and positive environment.


    6. Quality Improvement & Best Practices

      • Participate in quality assurance initiatives to continually improve the standard of care and resident satisfaction.

      • Stay informed of best practices, industry trends, and regulatory updates in residential care and behavioral health.

      • Implement changes and improvements based on feedback from residents, families, and internal assessments.


    7. Family & Community Relations

      • Foster strong relationships with residents' families, providing updates on resident progress, addressing concerns, and offering guidance.

      • Collaborate with community resources and external partners to enhance support services available to residents.

      • Organize and facilitate family meetings, community events, and activities to promote resident engagement and family involvement.


    8. Budget & Resource Management

      • Manage budget for residential programs, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and within financial constraints.

      • Oversee the purchase of supplies, equipment, and facility maintenance to support daily operations and resident needs.

      • Track expenditures and report on budget utilization to support financial planning and sustainability.


    Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).


    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential care or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.


    • Skills:

      • Strong knowledge of residential care practices, case management, and regulatory compliance.

      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

      • Proficiency in documentation, electronic health records, and Microsoft Office Suite.

      • Ability to manage and mentor a team, with a focus on quality and compassionate care.

      • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.


    Preferred Attributes:

    • Familiarity with behavioral health, developmental disabilities, and other complex care needs.

    • Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

    • Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for residents and staff.
